Living Faith Together: Retreats, Service, and Spiritual Growth Await You
Campus Ministry is here to help students deepen their faith and live out their baptismal call by participating in retreats, mission trips, discipleship groups, and more. During the academic year, Saint Mary’s offers daily Mass, all-school Mass, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation during lunch.
Spiritual direction offers you the chance to deepen your connection with God. Whether you are seeking guidance on relationships, identity, other challenges, or just want to pray with someone, Saint Mary’s is here to support you!
Paying attention to God with the help of a spiritual companion can make an important difference in all areas of life. Please click to contact our Campus Chaplain, Fr. Marvin Soto (frsoto@smknights.org) or Campus Ministry, Mrs. Samantha Villalobos (svillalobos@smknights.org), for more information about spiritual direction.
At Saint Mary’s, we understand that high school can bring many challenges, from tough decisions about college and friendships to coping with grief. Campus ministry is here to support you though these times by helping you explore how faith can offer new perspectives. We work closely with the Office of Guidance Counseling to provide resources for students facing difficult life questions or grieving a loss. Remember, you are not alone. Reach out to our caring staff members any time for guidance and support.
The Kairos retreat embodies the value of the Catholic faith as lived and experienced in community. Students are given the opportunity over a three-night/four-day retreat to look within themselves and find true worth as people in a relationship with God, family, and friends. The Kairos retreat is offered to juniors in the Fall and Spring.
Retreats are offered every year for each class. Retreats are Christ-centered and systematic and each retreat has a core emphasis:
Freshman Retreat – the Fatherhood of God
Sophomore Retreat – Service
Junior Retreat – Vocation
Senior Retreat – Sending Forth
Annually, twelve Lady Knights are invited to discern religious life by traveling to Ann Arbor, Michigan and spending a weekend with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.
Over 60 Juniors/Seniors attend Walk for Life each year to stand in solidarity with the unborn and promote the right to life.
Pilgrimages are to San Francisco, California for Walk for Life and Washington, D.C. for March for Life.
Fifteen sophomores are invited to serve the residents of Klagetoh, Arizona. Students help with daily life, building sheep corrals, painting homes, and cutting firewood.
Students have had the opportunity to visit Poland, Rome, El Salvador, and Mexico (Miacatlan).
At Saint Mary’s, Christian service is a vital part of your experience. We encourage you to go beyond just doing good deeds – let God’s mercy and charity guide you in serving those in need. Throughout the year, you’ll find many opportunities to make a positive impact, from volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul to organizing community projects. Every club and team is also encouraged to dedicate time to service. Get involved, lead with compassion and make a difference!
