Test Prep and Testing

Incoming Freshmen: Sign up for HSPT Prep Class (optional) – November 2 & 9, 2024

In order to prepare students for the HSPT, Saint Mary’s offers two Saturday preparation days to familiarize students with the test itself.  Students will take small portions of the test and review those sections in order to learn mathematics and English content, test taking techniques, and time management skills.  Each student will attend two sessions each Saturday, one for mathematics (2 hours) and one for language arts (2 hours) with a 15 minute break between the two sessions.  Though some essential content is repeated in both Saturday sessions, different content will be covered.  Students who take the classes will be better prepared to perform at the highest level on the test and to be placed in the appropriate courses upon enrollment to Saint Mary’s. Incoming Freshmen: Sign up for and take the HSPT – December 7, 2024; Make-up: December 14, 2024

Students must complete the High School Placement Test prior to being accepted to Saint Mary’s. This is a standardized test that assesses student knowledge in Language Arts, Math, and the Catholic Religion. The cost of the test is $50. Check-In begins at 7:30 a.m. The test begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Due to the nature of the test, late arrivals are not accepted. Registration and payment can be completed using the following link:

Student Interviews
Student Interviews will be scheduled once the online portion of the application is submitted. These applications will be reviewed by the admission’s committee after all steps are complete.
